How 2048 6x6 Works
The game begins with a few numbered tiles placed on a 6x6 grid. Most new tiles display a value of 2 or 4. Every move shifts all available tiles in one direction: up, down, left, or right. When two tiles with the same number collide, they merge into a single tile worth twice their original value.
For example, two 2 tiles create a 4, two 4 tiles form an 8, and two 8 tiles become a 16. This pattern continues through larger values such as 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, and finally 2048.
A new tile appears after every valid move, gradually filling the empty spaces. The game ends when the grid is full and no neighboring tiles can be combined. Reaching 2048 is the primary milestone, although players may continue merging numbers and pursue an even higher score when the version allows it.
How the Larger Grid Changes the Experience
The most noticeable difference is the amount of space available. On a standard 4x4 board, one poorly planned move can quickly disrupt the entire layout. The 6x6 grid provides more flexibility, allowing players to reposition smaller numbers and create longer merging sequences.

The larger grid can also create a false sense of security. Empty cells may encourage careless swiping during the early stages.
